Grace McMurray

McMurray works with objects and images in relation to genres of classification. In her recent installation, she has created a retro-futurist archive using patchwork, costume, drawing and cover art.

Grace McMurray uses found images and structures selected from magazines, books, art and world history to generate her crafted images and sculptures.

Her works have an evident physical presence and intimacy, embodying relationships of historical displacement and time. ‘The Diver’ (2008) focuses on the artist’s interest in Penguin Classics 2000 edition of F Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatesby.
